GRIME.
Music of the streets, music of the mandem, music of London's people. I would give a history lesson on this music but to be honest I can't really be bothered and music is the best teacher. But what I will do is suggest a few artists and talk about why they're so good. Grime is a very dirty genre not in sexual terms so don't get any ideas but in terms of the beats, the synths and the fundamental way that artists compose themselves on the tracks that they rap and sing. It is a unique genre that can't really be copied by even the most diverse musical artists.
Dizzee Rascal - One of Grime's first pioneers, he set the stage for grime when he released his successful first album "Boy In Da Corner" (Review to come). Unfortunately I feel he has become too commercial since his third album "Maths + English", so doesn't really make the same type of music as he did back into 2003 however his skill and flow has not changed and he still continues to drop sick barz.
Wiley - The east London man who is described as the originator of Grime due to his production of "eskibeats" and his rapping skills. Wiley's deep voice and ability to rap on a variety of different styles is what makes him a good artist.
Boy Better Know - Think of them as a Grime super group like London's YMCMB... Actually forget them they're dead think of them as London's Maybach Music Group or Odd Future. Every member of this group are technically skilled my personal favourite being JME which I think is just levels upon levels.
Ghetts - Quite a new arrival on the Grime scene but despite this is very promising due to the amount of skill he has, he can also pump up a crowd with the amount of energy he exhibits in his tracks
Tempa T - This guy is just angry (hence "Tempa" T) I don't care much for his bars but this guy makes me want to start breaking windows and throwing chairs at people and shit like that. His energy is out of this world he is the definition of a hype man
JME - I mentioned him but he deserves his own section, one thing I hate about rap is the fact that some artists rap in a way whereby you don't know what the hell they're on about but JME is not one of those his lyrical ability is fantastic and he drops those bars that make you go:
